How I Work with Clearance Holders (ACT-Led, Privacy-Focused)

Discretion drives every step, insurance-free care, minimal documentation, and direct, HIPAA-compliant telehealth.

  • ACT — Performance Under Pressure:

Skills to notice fear/urgency and act from values (integrity, service, family) rather than adrenaline.

  • CBT — Operational Readiness Skills:

Reduce catastrophic thinking, hypervigilance, and sleep disruption; strengthen focus and decision-making.

  • CPT — Calibrating Risk & Trust:

Rework meanings around safety, control, and responsibility common in mission-critical roles.

  • PE — Only When Indicated:

Consent-based exposure to job-relevant triggers (sites, routes, scenarios) to reclaim capability.

  • Mindfulness & Grounding:

Compact, field-ready regulation tools for briefings, travel, and shift work.

We discuss exactly what is recorded and why; you control any release of information unless law requires it.

What Getting Help Looks Like When You Hold a Clearance

If you’re in a sensitive role (federal employee/contractor, military, law enforcement, first responder), privacy is essential, not a barrier. With me, you can expect:

  • Insurance-free care (no automatic claims or routine third-party data sharing)

  • Confidential, HIPAA-compliant telehealth with direct scheduling and payment

  • Clinically necessary documentation only; we discuss what’s recorded and why

  • Psychoeducation about seeking care and how to prepare for conversations with a security officer if needed

Agencies differ, and many encourage proactive care. This service supports your mental health while respecting professional requirements. (Informational, not legal advice.)

What to Expect in Therapy

In our first session, we clarify your goals, history at your pace, and privacy needs unique to clearance holders. You’ll leave with a personalized plan that balances mental health and career requirements. Sessions are online, HIPAA-compliant, and insurance-free for maximum confidentiality. Most clients meet weekly or bi-weekly for 50 minutes, with structured 8–16 session protocols or ongoing therapy available.

Common Concerns from Clearance Holders

  • Will therapy jeopardize my clearance? Therapy is not automatically negative; many agencies value stability. Check your agency’s policy or consult your security officer.

  • Do you share information with my employer or agency? No. I do not bill insurance or share data unless you request it in writing or it’s legally required.

  • Will a diagnosis appear in my records? Only if you request a superbill for reimbursement; otherwise, no insurer data is created.

  • Can email be kept minimal? Yes. Sensitive details are handled only in secure sessions.

Telehealth is provided with documented informed consent at your first appointment. We review risks, benefits, privacy, and alternatives per California and Virginia law.
